An escape in La Garrotxa, combining culture and nature. Experience the Olot International Bagpipe Festival and enjoy the adventure of flying in a balloon over the volcanoes of the Olot Natural Park. The Cornamusam is a grassroots music festival dedicated to the dissemination and promotion of the bagpipe (or sack of moans) and its music, as well as showcasing other bagpipes from around the world. This festival was born from the initiative of El Til·ler, Association for the Popular Culture of La Garrotxa which has promoted its organization since 1992.
On September 8, 1991, a day dedicated to the groaning bag was organized in the Cloister of the Carme d’Olot under the title “THE SAG OF MOANS. Traditional Music Concert”. The Linden Associació per la Cultura Popular de La Garrotxa lays the foundations for what the following year will be called Cornamusam, the first edition of this bagpipe festival that has been held annually in Olot without interruption. Throughout all the editions, the main sacaras of Catalonia have performed at this festival as well as international figures such as Carlos Núñez, Bieito Romero (Luar Na Lubre) or Liam O’Flynn
It is an annual event that takes place on the third weekend of June, on the 19th, 20th and 21st of June.
Over the years, the festival has maintained some of its own elements, such as the Tocada d’Inici, the Cabreta and the Ratafia Russet Award.
