New service area at the fort of the Montsacopa volcano.

Volcà Montsacopa’s new service area occupies the old El Fortí de Sant Francesc tower that dates from the 19th century.

It is a one-story building with a terrace overlooking the city of Olot .

The bar-restaurant is fully integrated into the surrounding landscape and offers a bar service during the day and will have a restaurant menu for lunch and dinner during all weekends and holidays.

The Montsacopa volcano is aligned between the Garrinada and Montolivet volcanoes. It has a circular crater, the product of a low-explosive Strambolian eruption about 100,000 years ago. Declared Natural Reserve of the Natural Park of the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone, it is fully integrated within the urban center of the city.
The church of Sant Francesc and the two watchtowers above the crater make the volcano a place of incomparable scenic beauty. The exceptional location has turned it into a magnificent viewpoint of the city of Olot , of much of the volcanic area and even of the nearest peaks of the Pyrenees.

It is recommended to access it on foot from the parking lot of the Olot cemetery .

And if you want to see the volcanoes from the air, take the opportunity to enjoy a hot air balloon flight in La Garrotxa
